MPI North Florida 2018-2019 Board Nominations

MAKE A COMMITMENT TO YOURSELF AND YOUR NORTH FLORIDA CHAPTER

Nominate yourself or a colleague for the 2018-2019 Board of Directors! Our strong and vibrant MPI chapter relies upon the dedication and outstanding service of our volunteers to allow us to continuously address the changing needs of our members. By serving on the board, you have a great opportunity to build your professional skill set, expand your network and contribute to the long-term success of the North Florida meeting industry. The Board of Directors is currently composed of 13 chapter members, 7 officers and 6 directors. Please review the Board of Directors Job Descriptions and chapter bylaws prior to submitting a Nomination Form.

Nominee criteria: any non-student member in good standing is eligible for nomination

2017-2018 Board of Directors take office on July 1, 2018. The following one-year term positions are open for nomination September 1 – November 30:

  • President-Elect, with automatic succession to President in 2019-2020
  • Vice President Finance
  • Vice President Education
  • Vice President Membership
  • Vice President Communication
  • Director of Strategic Partnerships
  • Director of Special Events
  • Director of Leadership Development
  • Director of Northwest Development
  • Director of Administration
  • Director of Chapter Collaboration (TONS/SEC)

2017-2018 Office of the President:

  • Lisa Perry, President
  • Susan Wiley, Immediate Past President
  • Casey Hollingsowrth, President-Elect

Nominating Committee criteria in considering candidates:

  • Willingness and ability to fulfill the obligations of office in the capacity indicated
  • History of involvement, accomplishment and dependable service to MPI or the chapter
  • Desire to contribute time, energy, support and creativity to the chapter with consent of employer
  • Leadership, business and management experience outside of MPI
  • Completed application and Commitment Form Results of phone or personal interview, if applicable

Nominating Process and Timeline:

  • September 1 – November 30 Nominations Open (Nominate yourself or another current member)
  • December 1 – 9 Committee reviews applications, schedules phone interviews with all nominees
  • December 12 – 16 Committee conducts phone interviews with all nominees
  • January 10 Committee to recommend Board of Directors slate to 2016-2017 Board at January Board Meeting for approval of President-

Elect and all VP nominees; President-elect & VP nominees contacted with decision

  • January 29 2018-2019 slate of Directors provided to membership via e-mail
  • March 1 If no candidates are contested by a chapter member, slate is automatically approved; 2017-2018 Board of Directors slate is due to MPI Global
