PRESIDENTS REPORT - FEB
February 2017
Thank you to everyone who has helped make our two auctions so far a reality.  We are extremely excited to be awarding a complimentary MPI renewal to the member who secures the most donation items across all three auctions.  Shout out to Lynn Miles for her work so far!!  She’s looking to take home that renewal after our final auction ends, but there’s still time for you to get in on the auction action as well.

We had a wonderful time at the Slammer & Squire at the end of January.  Two lucky guests went home with rounds of golf after participating in a glow golf challenge—which was super cool!  We are all so thankful for our partners who make After5’s and Education Programs possible.  If you or someone you know would like to host MPINF, please let us know.

Your February program is going to be a great one!  I’m sad I won’t see your smiling faces, but  I will be missing you all from Mexico, so please take notes during the program so you can share your takeaways with me!

January 2017
We turn around and then it was 2017!  We are almost through our 2016-2017 year of MPI North Florida, and I am extremely grateful for all that each of you do to contribute to making our chapter a success.

Please join us on January 26th for our After5 Social at the Slammer & Squire.  There’s still time to sign up!  There’s also still time to submit donations for the auction that closes at the end of this month, and then our 2017 Summer Kick-Off auction coming up later.  Don’t forget we have a great incentive for members to donate 🙂

If you are making or have made New Year’s Resolutions, add MPINF to the list.  Resolve to be as engaged as ever.  Resolve to make new connections and new friendships and new opportunities for others this year.  Resolve to be a helping hand and a listening ear should one be needed.

I have high hopes for 2017 and look forward to seeing them through with you all.

December 2016

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  I don’t know about you all, but I absolutely love this time of year.  I think whether you celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah or something else completely, there’s so much to get excited for.  We’ve had a whirlwind end to 2016, and all have so much to be thankful for and to celebrate, I’m sure!  Speaking of celebrating—we’re looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, December 2nd, at the Enchanted Christmas Village.  Very informal and very family friendly!  We’d love to share some Holiday Spirit with you there 🙂  If you aren’t able to make it tomorrow, please mark your calendars for January 26th when we will kick-off 2017 with some networking and comradery!  More details to follow.

Please don’t forget that you can earn a free membership renewal by contributing to our online auctions this year.  The member with the most donations to the auction (with a minimum of five items) will receive a complimentary renewal, and will also help make sure can continue to provide the programs and networking that you all deserve!

Since this is a season of giving, let’s think ahead to how you all can help give back to our MPI Community 🙂  You have many opportunities to engage on committees, and a new opportunity will be coming shortly with SEC being back in North Florida.  We are grateful for having it so close and know it is going to be terrific!

I know you are all busy getting back to work after Thanksgiving, so I won’t keep you much longer.  Please feel free to reach out to me if there’s anything I can assist with at all.  See you soon!!

NOVEMBER 2016

November is a great time for us to #countyourmanyblessings, and I think we all have so many things for which we should be thankful.I will start us off!We are grateful that we are able to reschedule our October Program to another time. We are grateful that we have friends, neighbors, and fellow MPINF members who are there to help when a hurricane decides to head our way, and that while some of us lost a lot during that ordeal, the most important thing is that we are all still here. Please, please let us know if there is anything one of us can do to help you get back on track if you do need assistance with anything. We are so thankful for our Community Outreach Team and the MPINF Board for taking the time to call our members to see what we can do, and just check in.

This past month was a hectic one, and I know that November and December are going to fly by as well. Your MPINF Board will be meeting at Cabin Bluff for our November Mid-Year Retreat on the 2nd & the 3rd. There the team will review the first part of the year, check in on how everything is going and make sure we are on track to finish 2016-2017 strong. A huge thank you to your board members who volunteer their time and efforts to provide programming and fun for you all. Another huge thank you to their committee members, our silent auction supporters, and you. Even if you are not currently volunteering or donating, we appreciate your time in reading your newsletter, visiting with us at chapter meetings, and continuing to support MPINF with your membership.

I hope you are planning to come see us at the Colonial Quarter on November 7th! This Educational After5 is going to be awesome.

See you there!

OCTOBER 2016

And just like that, it is October! Hopefully all of you gals and ghouls are ready for it!

If you missed out on Education Day in September, you really did MISS OUT! We had such a great day with Cabin Bluff. They truly are a hidden gem in our area. I know they are technically in Georgia, but it is practically our backyard. Huge thank you to them. We hope to be invited back sometime soon!

Now, we really need your help friends . . . well, actually YOU need your help. Our wonderful chapter is not able to provide you with excellent education unless we all come together to raise money to keep us going. Suppliers and Planners alike are needed to help meet our goals and keep our chapter going for this coming year! As planners, you can reach out to your friends who serve our industry with accommodations, airlines, golf, etc. to help secure donations for our three online auctions. As suppliers, you have an opportunity to get in front of our 140+ MPINF Chapter Members, our 350+ Facebook Friends, and the 450,000+ affluent and cause-minded shoppers on BiddingForGood. Tell me that does not sound like a great deal! And all you need to do is make a donation to help with our cause, which helps you and your chapter! Here is a link to our donation letter and form. We would love to hear from you!

Off my soapbox for now 🙂 Enjoy the rest of the newsletter. Come join us in St. Augustine for our next educational session. I cannot wait to see you!

SEPTEMBER 2016
O-M-G It is September! Kids are back in school, you are probably swamped at work, and the last thing you may want to do is read this newsletter. You know, it is alright. You can save it for later, but if you do, make sure you come back to it.

Why? Because your MPINF team cares about you and works to provide you with the best of, well, everything! Keep reading for a short tutorial on accessing the MPI Member Database through mpiweb.org, future opportunities to learn and engage with your MPINF friends and colleagues, as well as chances to give back through volunteering and supporting our auctions.

Just a couple more things before I go: INCENTIVES, my friends. Volunteer and you get incentives. Take meeting surveys and you get incentives. Come network at our meetings, and what? You get incentives. I am sure you all are just grateful for the time together, but in case you needed a little extra push ;)Do not know what I am talking about? Well get in the loop!

Looking forward to seeing you at Education Day!

PRESIDENTS REPORT (6)

AUGUST 2016

Hopefully everyone has had an opportunity to enjoy some fun-in-the-sun so far this summer. The first seven months of 2016 have really flown by for me, and next thing you know it’s going to be Christmas! But I’ll try not to rush ahead of myself.

We had a super successful July and I am grateful for the opportunity we had to spend time at Wounded Warrior Project, collect school supplies for donations, and hear from Dan Nevins (the heath bar and lemon-white-chocolate-chip cookies were pretty amazing as well).I’m not sure what I expected going in, but I laughed, I cried, and I was inspired.

I probably say this a lot, but it’s true: the next few months are going to rock it. If you don’t have your MPINF Chapter on your calendar, do it now. Seriously, DO IT. August you have another opportunity for education and networking at Doubletree by Hilton Jacksonville Airport, then September you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in MPINF fun with Education Day. There is a boat cruise, friends. A. BOAT. CRUISE. Just think of the awesome networking that will take place as we cruise around Cumberland Island. Huge shout-out to Cabin Bluff for sponsoring this exceptional day.

Don’t forget: MPINF is what you make of it! So let’s engage, volunteer, network, learn, and make it amazing!

PRESIDENTS REPORT JULY

JULY 2016

Your Special Events Team put together a great June Gala! For those of you who missed it, hop on over to Facebook to check out the pictures and see what all you missed. For those of you who DID join usTHANK YOU! We sincerely appreciate the commitment of your time to be with us. Now hang with me for just a moment while I tell everyone else what 2016-2017 is going to mean for them! (Pssst this may sound familiar, but it wont hurt for you to hear it again.)

2015-2016 was a tremendous year for MPI North Florida. Your team worked so hard to make it a great year and provide opportunities for you to engage and learn and grow.

2016-2017 is going to be an even better year. This is the year that you all are going to feel empowered to really engage with the board, committee chairs, and committee members. Talk with them; tell them what you think, how do you like what theyve done and what they are doing? We need engaged and involved members to keep this chapter going, and YOU need to be engaged and involved members to get the most out of your MPI membership. And you know what makes your MPI Membership even betterwhen you share it with your friends and colleagues. I want to encourage you to talk about MPIget other people to drink the Kool-Aid. And if you havent drunk the Kool-Aid, talk to me or any of our engaged members to find out what you are missing if you arent engaging.

Reminder: only Members of MPINF are going to receive the full newsletter from here on out. Non-chapter-members are welcome to read my messages on our website (mpinf.org), but to get the full experience, they need to JOIN US! Once they join, they can attend all the meetings they want! If they dont, they can only spend time with us at two meetings per year and they arent able to volunteer with us and enjoy the benefits of being a member of YOUR chapter!! So invite them to join us!

I am thrilled to be part of the 2016-2017 Board of MPI North Florida, and I am thrilled to see how great you all will make this year.
